Welcome to newcomers into our communityThe Estate's voluntary committee is now past its half way point for the current year of service.
AGM
8pm Tuesday 24 April 2001 We would all love to see you there, especially IF you have something to bring up or you are interested in becoming a voluntary director to help run the estate management. Your involvement is especially important to keep the management costs down for everyone.
Rubbish: Foxes and Rats! We apologise if you are new and have not received the Welcome letter, with the accompanying helpful information. However, also to remind older residents, we don't have an estate cleaning service that will automatically come and clean your bin area. So it's important to be aware that several of our residents have reported a growing problem with rat infestation and foxes. Some suggestions for removing this problem is: to double bag your rubbish; keep your rubbish off the ground; keep your rubbish in an enclosed area like the outside cupboard; call our local council 8207 2277 who will provide Wheelie bins. Some of our residents have been happy using a bin cleaning service which costs £2.50 per mth.
Cars & ParkingAt least 6 vehicles have been dumped on Ashdown Drive and our car bays on Theobald St. The authorities are on the case - but please don't hesitate to phone the Parking Unit yourself on 020 8207 7422 if you have any doubts. They will want to know the registration of the car and when the tax runs out.RepairsIf you are replacing your flat roof, you need to make sure the wooden beams are checked and replaced if needed at the same time as they eventually need replacing and cannot be done afterwards without destroying your new roof. This year there will be external decoration done to the Blocks with Nos. 37-66. You will need to make sure the woodwork to the exterior of your property is in reasonable condition as extensive repair of woodwork on your place is not covered by the Estate Management. Check with Caroline. if you are not sure.Satellite DishesJust a reminder that the lease prevents us from having any attachments on the outside of our buildings. However, after negotiation some time back, there was agreement that we are allowed to now have satellite dishes on the back of the blocks facing the railway.
Noise & NeighboursDon't forget - no washing machines on after 11pm and please don't leave them on when you go out in case of emergencies. Be kind to your neighbours! |
